I love a good festive drink during the holiday season. Just like in my food recipes, I like to use seasonal items, when I can, in my drinks. I make a sangria for every season – winter, spring, summer, and fall. For my winter sangria, I like to incorporate the almighty cranberry. You guys know that it is one of my favorite things about the fall/winter season. Studied show that cranberries have been linked to all types of goodness – like lowering blood pressure, low in calories, high in Vitamin C, and fighting certain types of cancers (click here for additional information). I generally make this particular sangria every December. It’s delicious. It’s fabulous. It screams CELEBRATION!!! I hope you try it and leave me a comment. Enjoy!

Winter White Sangria
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of Pinot Grigio
- 2 cups of brandy
- 2 Granny Smith apples chopped into bite size pieces
- 1-1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Club soda
- Fresh sprigs of rosemary for garnish
Instructions
Mix all of the ingredients together. Make sure that you stir to dissolve the sugar.
Dip the rosemary in the sangria, roll it in sugar, and use as garnish. The sugar makes the rosemary look like a tiny, snow-covered tree!
Be sure that each person gets some of the fruit in their cocktail. It’s delicious to munch on as you’re drinking your sangria.
***Note: This drink gets better the longer it sits. If you have time refrigerate it for a few hours or overnight.
